
Radio jingle master Kenny Everett
The BBC is to make a new documentary on radio legend Kenny Everett entitled “Number One in Heaven”. Written by Tim Whitmill – authour of stage play Morecambe – the title relates to the first time he saw him dancing in Heaven nightclub.

It’s set to be a 90 minute film for BBC Four documenting Everett’s early life including his difficult life on Merseyside at his Catholic Secondary School where he was bullied for his small size and effeminate demeanor according to a Kenny Everett article in The Guardian.
Kenny Everett on the Radio
He started out on pirate radio as a pirate DJ for Radio London and Radio Luxembourg before joining Radio 1 in the mid 1960s. He went on to present for Capital, Victory, Radio 2 and, in the early 90s, Capital Gold.
