The job of the music radio presenter has often been described as an easy one. What could be better than playing the best new music, talking every 3 or 4 tracks for 20-30 seconds and then playing more great music along with radio station jingles? The vast majority or radio stations automate the whole process between each presenter link (a link is radio speak for the talking in between tracks) using radio automation software to play the music and jingles.

There is so much a music radio presenter can be doing in between each record like preparing for the next link, checking weather and news updates on the internet, recording phone calls and even go for a quick toilet break. It will be interesting to read more feedback from music radio presenter about what they get up to including the good the bad and the ugly! I know a radio presenter, who shall remain nameless, that managed to use the automation software to pre-record his links and go for a beer and to the shops until the next news bulletin was due.
